About Keller

Annie Keller Elementary Gifted Magnet School is one of ten regional gifted centers in the Chicago Public School (CPS) system. Keller services the needs of diverse, gifted and talented students, who are tested for enrollment,across Chicago. Bus transportation is provided for students who qualify according to CPS student transportation guidelines. The instructional program at Keller is accelerated and challenging. Students participate in a myriad of activities including, Chicago Metro History Fair, Math Counts, Spanish, Visual Art, Debate Club, Chicago Children Choir, Science Fair, First Tee, and a host of other academic competitions and after school sports programming.Students at the 8th grade level are provided instruction in Biology, Coding, Spanish, Survey of Literature, and U.S. World History. As appropriate, students may earn high school placement after successfully exiting Algebra and are then exposed to Geometry while at Keller.

There is a heavy emphasis upon parental involvement. We welcome and need Parent Volunteers!! The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provides numerous fundraising and social activities for our school community (Fun Fair, monthly Best Lunch Bunch, Box Tops collection, Scholastic Book Fair, pancake breakfasts, monthly dine out fundraisers, and much more!In addition, the Keller Athletic Association (KAA) provides incentives, events, after school extra-curricular sports (golf, soccer, basketball, volleyball, bowling), and chess among others! We also partner with the Beverly Arts Center and Music Education Services to extend arts enrichment for our students.
